Effective home remedies for cold

Cold is very common disease, sooner or later every body has to suffer with cold. Main cause of cold is viral infection, and antibiotic generally doesn’t work. According to CDC report every human have two-to-three cold per year. Hence, cold is not very dangerous, but a man can feel bad. Home remedies are commonly used in cold. Let’s have a look which home remedies can help in cold.

 

Symptoms of cold

Generally, symptoms of cold appears two or three days after it happens. Sometimes, symptoms may vary to every human.

 Common symptoms are :

1. Sneezing

2. Sore throat

3. Runny nose

4. Cough

5. Fatigue

6. Body ache & headache

7. Low grade fever

8. Watery eyes

Remedies for Cold

Normally, medicines doesn’t work in this disease. Some cautions and home remedies can help you to feel better in cold.

1. Drink warm liquids

Drinking lukewarm water can make a big relief in cold. Drinking tea, soups and salty lukewarm water can help in sore throat and congestion.

2. Gargling

Gargling with salty warm water releases the blockage of throat and person with cold feels better. Two or three times a day gargling with lukewarm water is good in cold.

3. Stay hydrated

Take warm water, juice, lemon water to keep away from dehydration. Soda and coffee is not advised in cold. It is also suggested to avoid taking cold water and any other cold liquids during cold.

4. Warm bathe

Warm bathe is also considered one of natural way to cleanse your body. Some elements are dissolved in warm water to sooth the body.

5. Rest

In cold, body is infected and needs rest to heal. Sleep is necessary to rest and heal. Hence, it does not help to treat cold, but it helps your body to fight off cold to heal faster.

6. Steam

Upper body is mainly affected by the cold. Throat and chest is congested and make us restless. In this situation, steam can help releasing congestion of body and make throat and chest soothing.Specially, in case of children, it is much helpful.

7. Honey

Honey has been a very useful remedies for long. In case of cold, it is more useful for kids. Honey calms the cough and given to babies in cold before sleep helps them to prevent coughing.

8. Garlic

Garlic is being used as remedies since ages. It can provide a great number of benefits. Garlic holds compounds that increase the immune system and help the body to fight of germs.

9.Ginger

Ginger is the most common used remedy in cold. Ginger has been used as medicine since ancient time. In cold, mess the  fresh roots of ginger and boil it with tea. Ginger mixed can help you to calm your cold.

10. Blowing the nose correctly

Runny nose is common in cold. A lot of mucus come through nose during cold. Blowing mucus correctly can help in reduce blockage of nose. On the other hand, we should also take care of our nose while blowing, because mucus comes very frequently and our nose get injured, so blow the nose with soft and clear towel.
