In this tutorial we will learn how to create group in Tally ERP 9. Groups play a vital role in presenting and analysing the accounting books. It is difficult to examine the accounts and status of a company, showing all ledgers in trial balance. That’s why we create groups and make ledgers under related groups ( whether it is debtor or creditor). Sub- Groups are also created under groups, and than ledgers are created under sub-groups. There are many types of groups. Some basic groups are:
. Capital Account
. Loans
. Secured Loans
. Unsecured Loans
. Current Liabilities
. Fixed Assets
. Current Assets
. Sales Accounts
. Purchase Accounts
. Direct Incomes
. Direct Expenses
. Indirect Income
. Indirect Expenses
Most of the groups are generated automatically and we do not need to create manually. Hence, common groups are auto created, but we can create more groups/ sub-groups according to our requirements.
