How to import text file in excel.

In our day to day life it happens many times that we receive data in text (txt.) format to edit or modify, but it is very difficult to make changes in text format. We are also unable to apply formulas in text file. In this situation it becomes very important to covert this file into excel format. By following below step one can convert his file easily.

Let’s start.

• First of all open Microsoft Excel.
• Click “Open” or “Ctrl+O”.
• Select “All Files” of Open windows.

• Select text file to open.
• Now there two options to open file in excel (a)Delimited (b) Fixed Width
• Select “Fixed Width” and press “Next”.

• To differentiate with column Click on your preview data and double click to delete the break line.
• Again press “Next” and press “Finish”.

That’s all, your text file now has opened in excel and you can make change according to your requirements.
