How to synchronise data in Tally Prime.

When a business has one or more branches and data need to be shared in all branches, we use tally synchronisation. Tally has made it easier to handle and maintain accounts by this feature of synchronisation. There are some points to keep in mind while syncing tally data, such as- tally should be of same release ( version of tally should be same), must have active internet connection. Internet speed matters on data synchronisation, so one must have good speed of internet.

Follow below steps to sync Tally Prime.

  • First of all, get your tally connected.
    • Go to Company Tab or use shortcut alt+K.

  • Go to Connect Tab or use shortcut O.

  • After getting your tally connected you are ready to sync your data. Now for synchronisation:
    • Go to Exchange Tab or use shortcut key alt+Z.
  • Go to SynchrOnise or use the shortcut key O.

Now you will see a processing on your tally screen. It may take time according to data and internet speed. The bigger data, the more time. The slow network speed lead to more time.

After completion of synchronisation processing, to verify, whether data successfully synced or not. We can check with number of total voucher are mathing on both system client and server.

To check number of vouchers, we should follow below steps from gateway of Tally:

  • Go the Display more reports or use shortcut key D.

  • Now go to Statements of Accounts or use shortcut key S.

  • Go to Statistics or use shortcut key S.

  • Check dates.

On the bottom we will find total numbers of vouchers. If these total numbers are matching with server/client. It means your data has successfully synchronised.
